01

One site for everything.

On around 1,835 m² of production area, PV modules are built in different sizes, outputs, shapes and designs. With a production capacity of around 55 MWp per year, das.kraftwerk combines flexible manufacturing with industrial production expertise.

From the first idea through development and testing to series production, our photovoltaic modules Made in Austria are created directly at our site in Austria.

02

Standard and custom formats on the same line.

Our production is designed to manufacture both standard PV modules and customer-specific photovoltaic solutions. Different module sizes, geometries, cell configurations and designs can be implemented flexibly.

A versatile machine park with modern laminating, pressing, cutting and testing equipment keeps the paths between development, prototyping and series production short. New product ideas and individual customer requirements can therefore be implemented quickly and then produced in series.

Prepreg, Composite and HYBRID.

A key element of our production is the patented prepreg process. It is the basis of our particularly light and flexible Composite PV modules. Thanks to their material properties, they open up new possibilities wherever low weight, flexibility and individual design matter.

In addition, das.kraftwerk produces the HYBRID technology, developed specifically for PV facades and architectural applications. With this technology, das.kraftwerk holds a special position in the European market and manufactures the innovative facade modules itself in Wiener Neustadt.

04

No module leaves the factory untested.

Alongside development and manufacturing, quality assurance plays a central role. After production, every module is thoroughly tested to ensure it is in flawless and fully functional condition.

A key part of the final inspection is the flasher test. Each individual PV module is tested under defined conditions to verify that all solar cells work properly and the electrical characteristics meet the specified requirements.

  • Visual inspection after lamination
  • Final electrical inspection
  • Flasher test for every module
  • Documented measurement data

Years in fast forward, hail at the push of a button.

In addition to the final electrical inspection, our production features special testing equipment for examining the load capacity, resilience and long-term reliability of PV modules.

This includes an Accelerated Aging Test Machine: PV modules are exposed to accelerated aging processes under defined conditions, allowing potential weak points to be identified early. In our own hail simulation test rig, ice balls are fired at the module at a defined speed to simulate hail impact realistically.

The short path from prototype to series.

What makes das.kraftwerk special is the combination of development, testing and production under one roof. New PV products can be developed on site, built as prototypes, tested, optimized and then manufactured in series.

This close link between research, development and manufacturing enables short development cycles and a high degree of flexibility. At the same time, we can respond quickly to new technical requirements, individual customer requests and developments in the photovoltaic market.

Technologien

Three developments, one plant.

Prepreg, Composite and HYBRID are not bought-in parts but in-house developments. They are created, tested and manufactured at the same site.

Process01

Prepreg

Patented in Wiener Neustadt.

The patented prepreg process is the basis of our lightweight, flexible module construction – and thus the foundation for everything that follows.

Module family02

Composite

Lightweight, flexible, customizable.

Composite PV modules open up applications where low weight, flexibility and individual design play an important role.

Facade03

HYBRID

Developed for the facade.

The HYBRID technology was developed specifically for PV facades and architectural applications and is manufactured at our own site.

Testing procedures

Tested before anyone else does.

Extensive testing procedures accompany the entire development and production process. From first prototypes through stress and aging tests to the final electrical inspection, every PV module passes through several testing stations.

Testing and inspection systems in production
01

Flasher test

Every single module is tested under defined conditions: do all solar cells work properly, do the electrical characteristics meet the requirements?

02

Accelerated Aging

Accelerated aging under defined conditions reveals potential weak points long before they would appear in the field.

03

Hail simulation

Ice balls hit the module at a defined speed – hail impact simulated realistically, in a rig built specifically for this purpose.
